play
I am intrigued by how systematic motions create patterns and how interesting forms can be produced by introducing exceptions to said motions. I love hands-on activities and enjoy the tactile feedback they provide.
Below are some fun projects that I have embarked on in my free time. Some were done with friends, some are self initiated. Either way, they are a good representation of what I find interesting.
Ceramics
I get a kick whenever I see my glaze combinations flow and meld together, creating something entirely unexpected.
Cones & Domes
An ongoing experimentation of physical forms, colours and textures through clay.
3D Printing
Designing and deforming 3D printed models to create multiple textures and forms through inflation.
(PLA)stic Inflation
It's satisfying to see plastic stretch and expand, creating different levels of transparency. The occasional explosion is pretty cool too. #sweatciting
Architecture
GeoHolo
A competition entry using parametric design that won 2nd place and was built as a public installation.
It was an early attempt at parametric architecture, but I loved seeing how simple operations could create beautiful spaces that people enjoy and have fun interacting with.
